Program


1. Day :
Arrival in Bologna airport.
Transfer to the hotel located in the area of Rimini. Dinner and overnight.
The Rimini riviera boasts 40 km of sandy beaches and in summer season it is "invaded" by beach lovers. Another main attraction is its frenetic nightlife: there are mote than 100 discos and clubs. But it remains a ritual family destination for many Italians and Europeans. Rimini was the birthplace of Federico Fellini, one of the most exuberant italian film director.

2 Day:
Full day excursion in the countryside. In the morning visit of the Republic of San Marino, the oldest republic in the world, and guided visit through the narrow streets and the old medieval walls. You can take pictures of the republic's soldiers, buy local coinage and send mail and postcards with the beautiful San Marino stamps.
In the afternoon, continue the excursion to San Leo and visit of the old castle and the church. Return in hotel for dinner and overnight.

3. Day:
Full day excursion to Ravenna and Ferrara. Guided visit of the centre of Ravenna, declared World Heritage Site by Unesco. For centuries it was part of the Eastern Roman Empire, so that the influence of Constantinople is felt far more than that of Rome. The results can be seen in the church of San Vitale, the Baptistry of the Orthodox, and the tomb of Galla Placidia, the Basilica of St. Apollinaire (its mosaics are the last great Byzantine work . In the afternoon visit of Ferrara. The town of Ferrara was the residence of the "Este" dukes, an eccentric dynasty that ranked as a major political forse throughout Renaissance times. The "Este" kept the main artists of the day in commissions and built a twon which was - and still is - one of the most elegant urban creations of the period. To be visited: the imposing castle (Castello Estense) that dominates the centre of Ferrara, the Town Hall, the Cathedral with its impressive facade and the Palazzo Schifanoia, one of the best grandest of Ferrara's palaces. Return in Hotel for dinner and overnight.

4. Day:
In the morning visit of the old centre of Rimini with local guide. On the southern and northern edges respectively sit the Arco d'Augusto and Ponte Tiberio, testifying to Rimini's importance as a Roman colony. To be visited also the town's cathedral Tempio Malatestiano. Afternoon free for shopping or for relaxing on the beach. Dinner and overnight in hotel




5. Day:
After breakfast departure to Urbino, capital of the duchy of the great Montefeltro family, birthplace of Raffaello and historic university town. Visite of the centre of the city. Dominating a panorama of green hills and majestic mountains, the city is famous throughout the world for the inestimable masterpieces housed in the National Gallery within the Ducal Palace. in the afternoon you'll reach Gubbio. Gubbio, a medieval jewel whose gray stone buildings seem to be resolutely marching up the impossibly steep slopes of its heavily wooded hill. At its feet is a well-preserved Roman ampitheatre, still used for summer performances. Time at disposal in Gubbio for a free visit. Then continue to Assisi area. Hotel accommodation in Assisi area. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

6. Day:
Full day visit of Assisi and Perugia. Assisi, the immaculate medieval hill town that was home to Italy's patron saint, St. Francis, always a vortex of beauty and spirituality, it also offers some wonderful frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue.
Perugia is the lively home of the University for Foreigners, a place where you'll hear music late into the night and almost any language you can name on the streets, dominating the medieval town is the Rocca Paolina. Return in hotel for dinner and overnight.

7. Day:
After breakfast departure to Cortona. Short free visit. Set high on a hillside cloaked in olive groves, Cortona offers stunning views across the Tuscan countryside. You'll continue to Arezzo. Visit of the charming old medieval quarter.
Hotel accommodation in the area of Arezzo. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

8. Day:
After breakfast departure by highway to Bologna airport.
