Venice

Gondolas, masks, Murano glasses and Casino

More like a marvelous movie set than a real city, romantic Venice is known for its canals, gondolas and art treasures. Founded in the 5th century and spread over 118 small islands, Venice became a major maritime power in the 10th century. The whole city is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece in which even the smallest building contains works by some of the world's greatest artists such as Giorgione, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Veronese and others. The people of Venice have been making crystal and glass ( the difference between the two lies in the amount of lead employed ) since as early as the 10th century, when the secrets of the art were brought back from the East by merchants. The industry was moved to the island of Murano in the 13th century, and now is known in all over the world as Murano glass and the methods of the craft were such a well-guarded secret that it was considered treason for a glass-worker to leave the city. You can see the artisans elaborate wonderful pieces with their incredible art. In Lido di Jesolo you'll find thousands and more opportunities for amusing yourself. If one day you don't want to swim or lay in the sun, you can spend your time doing different thing. In Jesolo you can practice many sports: tennis, basket, football 5vs5, go-karting, mini-golf, bow, escursions by bike etc..., in addition to water-sports: swimming, sailing, wind-surfing, diving and kite, of course.
