that angels transferred the house of the Virgin Mary from Palestine
to this spot. The “Madonna of Loreto” is considered the
patron of the aviators. Inside the Basilica you can see the House
in which Jesus grew to manhood, and in which the Holy Family lived.
The
city is located only 37 km west of Venice. The majestic Basilica of
St.Antony is an important place of pilgrimages and houses its tomb.
His tongue and the vocal cords were discovered incorrup and are preserved
here. The saint's tomb is bedecked by requests for his intercession
to cure illnes and thanks for having done so.
